Google is the most popular search engine now, out performed many of its predecessors such as Lycos,  AltaVista, and Excite and present competitors such as Yahoo!, Bing, Ask.com and more. It also captured more than 60% of the the online advertising market share since 2008(Wikipedia).

The latest outstanding example is none other than Mark Zuckerberg , the King of the Social Media, whose vision of connecting everybody in the world has created the largest community in the virtual world, it has more than 5 billions active users now. His success has made him the man of the year for TIME magazine.

So if you want to be rich, you need to create a trend. In the Internet world, the task has become easier.
